The God Who Runs after Your Friendship
There are hundreds of images of God in the scripture. all of them are partial images of what God is like; none of them are perfect. The images we value drive our behavior and values.
One useful metaphor for our relationship with God is “friend of God”. How can we be friends in any normal sense with the supreme deity? Jesus is the answer and he has said that we are his friends. And if we are Jesus’ friend, we are God’s friend.
