Morning Address during an Ecumenical Conference, Fäno Denmark, August 1934
Bonhoeffer used verse 8 of Psalm 85 as his text: “I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unit his people and to his saints.” He called the ecumenical council to put out a strong statement of peace, because as Christians we are commanded to bring peace to earth. “He who questions the commandments of God before obeying has already denied him.”
He points out the difference between security and peace and claims there is no way to peace by ensuring safety. Peace is the opposite of security.
