Invoking: Globalization and Power
Timothy Jarvis Gorringe
Globalization started in the early 1500s because of a desire for wealth.
The Four Faces of Globalization.
- Development. After WWII, development was a buzz word and institutions (the IMF and the World Bank) were set up to help the underdeveloped nations. It has not worked as planned. The poor have gotten poorer (as a percentage of global income).
- Trade.
- Finance Capital. Bankers make money without any real production or changes.
- McDonaldization.
Three Eucharistic Snapshots. Three examples of communities. <Not sure why this section was included.>
Two Theologies. Christian theology compared to the theology of globalization. <Interesting points.>
Invocation.
