Chapter 22: Time to Shed the Cloak
The text for this sermon must be Mark 10 (the end of the chapter) which tells about blind Bartimaeus who sheds his cloak when Jesus asks his what do you want.
We have cloaks that prevent us from answering Jesus the way Bartimaeus did (“let me see”). Some of those cloaks are:
- Wealth and possessions
- Status
- Scholorship
- Religious beliefs
- Social responsibility
- Thinking of Christianity as a life insurance policy.
We need to shed our cloaks and allow Jesus to change us.
